This painting was inspired by the a gorgeous winter sky & moody lighting. I snapped a photo with the anticipation that one day I would paint this farm. I finally did paint this and when I went back to the location to take another look in a different light the barn was gone, vanished like so many other rural icons of a time gone by. I would have loved to see this barn on Glen Flats heading from Charlestown, NH into Claremont. I was deeply disappointed to see it had been taken down and also glad I had the opportunity to record it.
